Welcome to Wright Robertson of Glencoe

Welcome to our small family owned and operated winery located at Glencoe. We are Julie (My wife), Stuart (our five year old), Courtney (our Two year old) and Scott (myself). You might also come across Naomi (who often helps in the cellar door) or Paul (my Father in Law) doing odd jobs around the winery.

I guess most people would see us as slightly off centre and I guess we are. In 1999 we planted grapes in one of the coldest parts of the New England Tablelands. We don’t believe in irrigation and we farm organically. It was a tough road in the early years but we’ve been blessed by quite a few good years and now you may see Wright Robertson wines scattered across the New England.

These days we also buy grapes from other local producers, they aren’t always organic but they are good honest farmers with at least some care for their vines and the environment. As you may learn we don’t really love industrial agriculture so we only purchase grapes from real people, Richard, John, John again, Perry, Sam and Francois. We operate a fairly sustainable winery using solar power where we can and composting our waste.

We aim to make good wine naturally hence our new marketing line “Making Flavour Naturally”.

Our range includes Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, our sweet wine Minus Twelve, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. As we aren’t huge we cannot guarantee that these wines are available all the time but please drop in and taste whatever we have available at any one time. Our wines are also available at may New England Restaurants and Bottleshops.
